| The Paris International Motorcycle Show, a biennial event held every odd-numbered year, is the number 1 French show for the motorcycle market and one of the leaders in Europe. Whether you're a pro, a seasoned biker or simply mad about motorbikes, we will be delighted to see you at this highly promising 2007 edition, where over 700 brands from the global motorcycle, scooter and quad industry will be exhibiting in a fun and lively atmosphere. A whole host of sneak previews will be on show in the 60,000-sq. m exhibition area within the halls, with hundreds of machines to suit all tastes and uses, not to mention the accessories, equipment, press and services. There will also be lots of free activities for you to try your hand at (see “Events” section). A great day out in the name of mobility and pleasure! Full beam on second-hand motorcycles! You're thinking of buying a new mount but you'd rather buy second-hand? Then come to Hall 2/2, adjoining the main hall, where the second edition of the Salon de la Moto d'Occasion (Second-Hand Motorcycle Show) will be presenting the biggest showroom in France with over 700 machines selected and put up for sale by professionals. Get a sneak preview of them on our Web site as from end September , thanks to the virtual showcase set up by our partner, the Web site www.moto85.com . AMV, our exclusive “Insurance” partner, will also be offering you tailor-made insurance solutions for your new (or current) machine. Not forgetting our “Shopping” area, for you to get kitted out from head to toe with the biggest names in motorcycle equipment. NEW FOR 2007: THE “ECO-TECHNIC VILLAGE”
“I've been a biker for 20 years and obviously I love it, it's a means of transport, it's also freedom, fresh air, there's just one thing…unlike for cars, we're lagging behind on all scores when it comes to the environment and sustainable development. We have been badly educated in this matter. This is why I have decided to sponsor the Eco-Technic Village at the Paris Motorcycle Show. In this village you will really be able to get to grips with how to get eco-friendly. Changes to the usual biker attitude are going to rev up now. I'm going to be first in there, looking out for nature and the environment. It's quite simply important for our kids' sakes!” declared David Douillet, Village sponsor. The Eco-Technic Village will be held under a translucent 1,600-sq. m marquee on Terrace D4 of the Exhibition Park, near the free motorcycle parking area. Several debates and activities will be taking place at the “Eco Forum”, in the heart of the Village, and there will also be “ clean workshops” for bikers to offer their two-wheeled wonders a real “grooming session” while they take a look around the show: replacement of worn tyres, safety checks, oil changes etc. This maintenance work will be carried out (for a fee) according to processes which recycle parts and lubricants insofar as possible, foreshadowing the ideal workshop for “green” concessions. |
